Decorating with Photographs ~ A picture can paint a thousand words!
Photographic images can be a meaningful, colorful, and relatively inexpensive way to decorate. That’s not easy to say coming from a painter by trade! ☺
When our country club, Two Rivers CC in Governor’s Land, decided to redecorate their office space they thought it would be nice to enhance their walls with images of the club’s many special amenities. Knowing that I had taken a number of pictures around the community they contacted me about purchasing my images.
The club grounds include a protected marina, a Tom Fazio golf course, wonderful birdlife, and perfectly stunning sunsets. It would be far too expensive for the club to purchase original artwork for all that they wanted to capture for their office space. Photographic images of Two Rivers, featured in the lobby, would be a nice way to greet residents and prospective buyers.
So last week was when it all came together! Five of my photographic images were blown up on a fairly large scale, printed on quality paper stock, professionally framed, and hung in the office lobby of Two Rivers Country Club. The images include an orange sunset through two cypress trees (a focal point from the dining area of the club), a large image of the marina entrance, a shot of the 4th hole (200-yard par 3), and two bird images of an Osprey and a Great Blue Heron.
They tell a story of an idyllic place to live. The images are reality. They represent some of what people can experience on a daily basis if they live or work here.
It was a fun project for me; allowing me to be creative with subject matter, challenging my photographic abilities, and working together with the club’s President to meet the club’s needs.
Thanks as always for following my art and my photography! I appreciate all of your interest and support!
