“Nose-close” at the Reef ~ Good reviews on opening night!
It’s always nice to get good reviews about your artwork, but when it’s by the Art League at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida, it feels really good! Well over a hundred people were able to view my Maritime and Bird paintings up “nose-close” in the Art League’s gallery on opening night, December 2nd.
The lighting was perfectly targeted on each painting, allowing the paintings to look their best under tremendous scrutiny! The large room allowed people to view each painting up-close and from afar.
Throughout the evening, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the wonderful members of the Ocean Reef Club. It was the warmest of greetings by people unfamiliar with my work. They were so generous with their compliments and appreciative of the exhibit that the night will always be remembered as a special night!
Early in the evening a couple of Pelican paintings sold, prompting the Executive Director of the Art League to reach for her red dots! ☺ Photographs were taken of me with new collectors and with the people from the Art League responsible for arranging the show. It was all somewhat surreal after spending months painting for the exhibit and planning for the trip.
It was an honor to have my work seen at “The Reef”. Thanks to all at the Art League who helped make my exhibit possible. Thank you for all of the positive responses to my work and thank you to the Ocean Reef Press for a very good review!!!
What’s next??? I have more exciting news about upcoming events to follow in the near future!!! Please check back soon.
Thanks as always for reading my blog, following what I’m up to with my painting and photography, and for your comments and questions!
